Police are looking for two men who allegedly walked out of a Glendale gas station with stolen cases of beer last week – before brandishing a gun and a knife at workers who tried to stop them from fleeing.
The suspects entered the Shell gas station, located at 90-05 Myrtle Ave., on Jan. 30 at around 1:25 a.m. and made their way over to the beer aisle, police said.
Video surveillance, released by police, shows one of the suspects carrying two cases of Corona beer to the exit by the counter. He then drops the cases on the floor and looks back at his alleged accomplice.
Instead of paying, he glances at the store clerk behind the counter before strolling out the door.
The store clerk and another worker can be seen giving chase before the second assailant – carrying another two cases of Corona beer — barges through the pair at the exit door.
The first suspect then displayed a gun while the other perpetrator pulled out a knife, police said. The two suspects then fled the scene in a 2022 black Ford Explorer.
The first suspect is described as having a light complexion and is between 20 and 25 years of age. He is believed to be approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and was wearing a brown-colored construction coat, black sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes. Police say he displayed a black firearm during the incident.
The second suspect is also described as having a light complexion and is between 20 and 25 years of age. He is described as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing black-colored pants and hoody, black gloves and a black mask. Police say he pulled out a silver knife when confronted by the workers.
There were no injuries.
