Police are searching for a man who stole thousands of dollars of cash as well as electronics from a Rego Park restaurant early Saturday morning.

The suspect broke through the locked front door of Nur Thai, a Thai restaurant located at 63-32 Woodhaven Blvd. at around 6:10 a.m., and began rummaging through the premises, police said.

The assailant snatched the register – which contained $3,000 cash – and also swiped two laptops and two iPads, according to police.

He then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

Despite the burglary, the operators of the restaurant posted an upbeat message to Facebook Saturday and said that they remain undeterred by the setback.

“We are in an era brimming with restaurant closures due to an ongoing pandemic, financial difficulties, restrictions as well as robberies,” the post reads.

“However we refuse to allow this to hinder us in any way and we will push forward.”

“As they say ‘the show must go on’ and as such we are back. To all restauranteurs STAY STRONG, STAY SAFE & STAY UNITED.”

The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years of age. He can be seen on video surveillance wearing a black top with grey sleeves, a red hood and jeans.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
