Storage Deluxe to Replace Grand Avenue Industrial Building

74-16 Grand Ave. (NYC ZoLa)

Nov. 29, 2018  By Laura Hanrahan

Storage Deluxe, the self-storage company, is planning to build a new facility on Grand Avenue.

The company filed plans with the Department of Buildings last week to construct a 32,032 square foot self-storage development at 74-16 Grand Ave., beside Elmhurst Park and where Maspeth and Elmhurst meet.

The plans call for several levels of storage space within the facility by way of underground cellars, with the building only set to rise one story.

The new development would replace the nearly century-old, brick industrial building that stands on the property, and which has been in use as a religious gathering space.

The Manhattan-based company did not immediately respond to a request for comment on its project.

Storage Deluxe currently operates 62 self-storage facilities in the New York City metropolitan area, with 15 facilities locations in Queens totaling more than 22,500 storage units.

Earlier this year, the company acquired a parking lot in Bayside with intentions to turn it into a storage facility.
