A 66-year-old pedestrian is dead just days after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a Ridgewood street.

Bohdan Spiegowski was struck while attempting to cross Stanhope Street at Fairview Avenue around 5 p.m. on Dec. 9. He was hit by a white 2019 Ram 3500 Promaster Van going eastbound on Stanhope Street.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, hit Spiegowski just a block away from the victim’s home.

Police said Spiegowski was hit on the passenger side of the car before being knocked down onto the pavement.

Spiegowski suffered head trauma and was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where he later died on Dec. 12.

The driver remained on the scene. No arrests have been made and police said the investigation is still ongoing.
