An Irish pub and restaurant that has served Rego Park residents for nearly two decades will shutter permanently due to the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns.

Woodhaven House, located at 63-98 Woodhaven Blvd., is the latest small business to announce that it will not reopen when the pandemic and shutdown orders subside.

“To our Woodhaven House family, it is with a heavy heart we must inform you that Woodhaven House will not be reopening after this pandemic has passed,” the restaurant said in a statement posted to Facebook.

The owners said the financial blow of the pandemic was too great to reopen.

“It is not financially possible to continue,” they wrote in the statement. “These last few months have been devastating for us all in so many ways.”

Woodhaven House opened in Rego Park 16 years ago and served lunch and dinner daily with live music every weekend.

“The past sixteen years have provided so many memories and so many friendships made,” they wrote.

“Thank you for your support throughout the years. It was our privilege to have been a part of your life.”
