A pedestrian was allegedly attacked and robbed by a bike-riding thief in Ridgewood Thursday.

The victim, a 53-year-old man, had cash in his hands while walking near the corner of Bleecker Street and Fresh Pond Road at around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect cycled up to him and punched him in the face, police said.

The man fell to the ground and the perpetrator then stole $100 cash from him, according to police.

The alleged mugger fled the scene on the bicycle and was last seen riding westbound on Menahan Street.

The victim suffered bruising to his face but refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, who is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt, a black backpack and black sneakers.

Police released a photo of the suspect wanted for questioning.
