Man Wanted for Gunpoint Carjacking in Glendale: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who allegedly carjacked the owner of a Mercedes Benz—at gunpoint—in Glendale during the early hours Sunday morning.

The suspect allegedly approached the victim who had just parked his vehicle on a residential street, pulled out a gun and demanded the keys. He then drove off with the car.

The incident took place at around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18 outside 82-54 88th Pl., according to police. The victim was a 48-year-old man, and the suspect also stole his cellphone.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect, who is dark-skinned with a slim build and black hair.

There have been no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

Police from the 104th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Eliot Avenue and 71st Street at around 3 p.m. on Sept. 26. The MTA is working with the NYC Department of Veterans’ Affairs to provide shuttle bus service between the Mets-Willets Point 7 train station and Flushing Meadows Corona Park for all those wishing to visit the “The Wall that Heals,” a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., that honors the more than three million Americans who served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam conflict.
