Man Fatally Shot in Woodhaven Early Thursday, Another Injured

A man was shot dead and another injured in a shooting that took place in Woodhaven early this morning.

A 19-year-old and a 21-year-old were both shot at the corner of 91st Street and 85th Avenue, near Forest Park, at approximately 4:24 a.m., police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call and found both men with gunshot wounds. The 19-year-old was shot in the left arm, while the 21-year-old was shot in the torso and head, police said.

EMS transported the younger victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in serious condition and rushed the 21-year-old to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting follows an uptick in gun violence across the city over the past several weeks.

Young man sought for scrawling swastika on an SUV in Middle Village: NYPD

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is now looking for a suspect who allegedly drew a swastika on an SUV in Middle Village late last month.

A truck driver for the city’s Department of Environmental Protection was arrested and charged in a fatal collision in Elmhurst last month.
