Jamaica Man Wanted in Middle Village Assault: NYPD

Police are searching for a Jamaica man wanted for the assault of a 66-year-old man in Middle Village last month.

On May 27, just after midnight, 45-year-old Rudy Salcedo allegedly got into a verbal dispute of a domestic nature with the victim inside of 62-44 84 St. The argument soon escalated and led to a physical altercation that left the victim with undisclosed injuries.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

Anyone with information regarding Salcedo’s whereabouts is asked to call the 104 Detective Squad at 718-386-2723.

An off-duty NYPD cop from Briarwood was arrested on Thursday morning and booked at the 102nd Precinct in South Ozone Park for allegedly sending sexually explicit content via an online app to an undercover officer posing online as a 14-year-old girl.

Police Officer Travis DeSouza, 35, of Van Wyck Expressway, was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on the night of April 24 on a criminal complaint charging him with attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors, official misconduct, and other related crimes, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Friday.
