Father-in-Law Charged With Attempted Murder in Ridgewood Stabbing

A Ridgewood man has been charged with attempted murder for alllegedly stabbing his daughter-in-law in their home yesterday morning, according to police.

Dahe Lin, 76, was charged after police officers found him on top of his 50-year-old daughter-in-law at their home at 1724 Suydam St., near Cypress Avenue. Lin had allegedly attempted to strangle his daughter-in-law before stabbing her in the neck. It is unclear what provoked the violent attack.

Upon arrival, the woman was found unresponsive and was given emergency care by the responding officers until EMS arrived. She was then transported in critical condition to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.

Lin has since been charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, strangulation, and assault with intent to injure using a weapon. He will appear today in Queens Criminal Court.
