Cops Looking for Three Men Who Allegedly Robbed Maspeth Smoke Shop at Gunpoint

Police are looking for three men who allegedly robbed a Maspeth smoke shop at gunpoint Saturday and took off with thousands of dollars of merchandise and cash.

The three suspects entered the at 64-25 Grand Ave. store at around 1:30 p.m., with two of them displaying a gun as they approached an employee. They then zip-tied the employee, while removing about $1,800 from the cash register and taking approximately $6,500 in merchandise.

The men fled the store on foot and headed northbound on Grand Avenue.

The store employee did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident, according to police.

Twenty individuals were indicted and variously charged in a wide-ranging scheme to steal cars in Queens, throughout New York City and its suburbs, following a three-year investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, and the New York State Police dubbed “Operation Hellcat,” into the criminal enterprise based in Queens.

Some of the vehicles were stolen from owners’ driveways, some with the keys or key fobs inside.
