May 26, 2020 By Allie Griffin

Candidates running for the Assembly District 37 seat will debate in a virtual forum tomorrow hosted by a handful of local community groups.

The candidates, activists Danielle Brecker and Mary Jobaida and incumbent Assembly Member Cathy Nolan, will answer questions from Queens residents and the community-based groups live on Zoom tomorrow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The forum is hosted and moderated by Sunnyside Woodside Action Group, Woodside on the Move, Western Queens Community Land Trust, Sunnyside Moms, LIC Coalition, HPCA, and the Justice For All Coalition.

To participate and watch the forum, Queens residents must register on Eventbrite. The Zoom call-in details will be sent to everyone who registers before the forum begins.

Queen residents who wish to ask questions to the three candidates can enter them into the Zoom chat to submit them to the forum moderators. The moderators will pick several audience questions to ask at the end of the forum.

The three candidates will appear on the Democratic primary ballot for the position on June 23. The assembly district covers Long Island City, Sunnyside, Ridgewood and parts of Astoria and Maspeth.
