82-Year-Old Man Assaulted and Robbed in Ridgewood Friday: NYPD

Police are looking for two suspects who threw an 82-year-old man to the ground in Ridgewood Friday and then took the victim’s wallet.

Police said the individuals approached the senior at around 5:30 a.m. as he was walking down George Street toward Wycoff Avenue.

One of the individuals then threw the victim to the ground. Both suspects then searched his pockets before taking the elderly man’s wallet with $20 in cash.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. He suffered lacerations and bruising, according to police.

An off-duty NYPD cop from Briarwood was arrested on Thursday morning and booked at the 102nd Precinct in South Ozone Park for allegedly sending sexually explicit content via an online app to an undercover officer posing online as a 14-year-old girl.

Police Officer Travis DeSouza, 35, of Van Wyck Expressway, was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on the night of April 24 on a criminal complaint charging him with attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors, official misconduct, and other related crimes, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Friday.
