78-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car in Glendale

Central Avenue and 69th Place (Google Maps)

A 78-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Glendale Thursday morning.

The senior was crossing Central Avenue near 69th Place when he was struck by a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling westbound on Central Avenue around 8:15 a.m., police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man was unconscious. He was rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending family notification.

The 74-year-old male driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

A lot of streets in Glendale , Old Middle Village are in need of more STOP signs, speed bumps , cameras.
Which one if our elected officials will step to do their job?
