Dec. 29, 2023 By Anthony Medina The Ridgewood branch of the Queens Public Library will remain closed until further notice since the repairs that were anticipated to be completed by Dec. 23 have taken longer than expected. Ridgewood’s public library, located at 20-12 Madison St., initially closed for one week starting on Dec. 14 to undergo heating repairs, according to QPL. The work was expected to be completed last week, but further inspections conducted by plumbers found additional steam leaks. New York City as a whole has seen an increase in cases over the past month, with Queens being the borough that is leading the way. Dec. 27, 2023 By Anthony Medina Council Member Robert Holden delivered 75 coats to former service members who are currently living at a homeless facility in Long Island City to help them keep warm this winter. The coats were delivered by Holden to the Borden Avenue Veterans Residence on Dec. 21.
