Police have released new surveillance footage of a man wanted for a rape that took place in Ridgewood last month.
On February 7 at around 5 a.m., the man was inside and sleeping in the apartment of the 28-year-old victim—who he was an acquaintance of—near Gates and Saint Nicholas Avenues. As the woman slept, the suspect began to rape her until she woke up and broke free.
The man then stole the woman’s Apple watch and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene, police said.
The new footage shows the alleged rapist, described by police as black, between 27 and 32 years old, and roughly 5 feet 11 inches in height, entering a subway station. He is seen wearing a dark green coat, black pants and white sneakers.
