NYPD Looking for Man Who Raped Woman in Victim’s Ridgewood Apartment

The police are looking for a man who allegedly raped a woman while she was asleep in her Ridgewood apartment earlier this month.

The suspect and victim–who were acquaintances– were sleeping in the apartment in the vicinity of Gates Avenue and Saint Nicholas Avenue when the woman woke up around 5 a.m. on Feb. 7 while being raped.

The woman pushed the man away and managed to break free.

The suspect then fled, taking with him the woman’s Apple watch and some cash, according to police.

The man is described as black, 27 to 32 years old, and approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and carrying a backpack.

The NYPD released a video of the suspect that was taken from a commercial establishment in vicinity of Gates Avenue and Saint Nicholas Avenue.
