The city’s Health Department has released the most popular baby names for 2017 across the five boroughs, with Liam and Emma coming in at the top of the list for Queens.
The two Queens names are also the top names citywide, which saw 571 Emmas and 734 Liams out of a total of 117,013 babies born in 2017.
Queens, meanwhile saw 24,761 babies born, coming in second behind Brooklyn with 28,717 born.
The agency noted that Liam had been the top name for baby boys in 2016, while Emma rose from third to first place for baby girls.
Liam was also the top name for boys in the Bronx for 2017, but other boroughs like Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island saw names like James, David and Michael top the lists, respectively.
Queens was the only borough where Emma came out as the most popular girl name. In Manhattan and Staten Island, Olivia remained the top girl name—the second most popular name for girls citywide in 2017.
Isabella was the most popular girl name in the Bronx, while Esther registered at the top for girls in Brooklyn.
The list of popular baby names, however, has largely remained consistent. Eight of the top 10 boys’ names and nine of the top 10 girls’ names from 2016 held their place on the 2017 list.
The Health Department adds that from 2016 to 2017, the number of babies born in the city decreased by nearly 3 percent, from roughly 120,000 births.
