Police Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Struck Pedestrian in Glendale Thursday

Police are searching for a driver who struck a 26-year-old pedestrian in Glendale early Thursday morning.

The hit-and-run happened around 1:15 a.m. when the victim was crossing from east to west on Woodhaven Boulevard, near the intersection with Myrtle Avenue, police said.

The victim was struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling southbound along Woodhaven Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene.

Police said they found the victim in critical condition lying on the roadway. He suffered severe head trauma and had lacerations to his face, leg and abdomen.

Emergency Medical Services transferred the victim to Jamaica Hospital.

No arrests have been made and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, the NYPD said.
