A diner in Ridgewood remains closed after the driver of an SUV crashed straight into the restaurant yesterday afternoon, sending multiple people to the hospital.
The black SUV went head first into the front door of Tasty Diner, located at 58-02 Myrtle Ave., around noon on Dec. 9, according to the FDNY.
Police say the SUV, a 2016 Honda model, was traveling southbound on Onderdonk Avenue when the driver lost control of the car and rear ended a 2001 Ford, causing minor damage.
The Honda then continued to accelerate down Onderdonk Avenue, crashing into the diner.
The drivers of the Honda and the Ford, as well as an adult and a child who were patrons of the diner, were transported to Wyckoff Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.
Footage of the crash obtained by NY1 shows the SUV hurtling through the intersection of Onderdonk Avenue and Myrtle Avenue, before colliding with the diner. Pedestrians on the sidewalk can also be seen running out of the way of the oncoming SUV.
It is unclear whether the driver will face charges.
The Department of Buildings issued a partial vacate order for the first floor of the building due to the damage to the front door, a DOB spokesperson said.
The diner was closed today while contractors worked on repairing the damage.

I see people rolling up at red lights as if it’s a stop sign. People get their license and then don’t give a dam about anybody else on the road. Also, when did it become legal to park in front of a hydrant on Yellowstone Blvd?
How about making the road test more difficult? Right now all you have to do is have a pulse and you pass.
