Feb. 24, 2020 By Allie Griffin

A group of men robbed two people and attempted to rob a third within minutes in Maspeth earlier this month.

Four suspects attempted to rob a 38-year-old man before successfully robbing a 15-year-old girl and a 41-year-old man in separate attacks that all occurred within a 10-minute span on Friday, Feb. 7, according to police.

They first approached the 38-year-old in front of 71-01 Grand Ave. at 9:20 p.m. and punched him in the face. They then tried to take his property from inside his pants pockets, but fled empty-handed, police said.

Five minutes later, they grabbed the 15-year-old girl from behind as she was walking in front of 54-21 71st St. They grabbed her cellphone and airpods and fled northbound on 71st Street, police said.

The group then approached the 41-year-old man at 70th Street and 53rd Avenue, five minutes after the second attack at 9:30 p.m. They punched the man in the head, knocking him to the ground, where they continued to punch and kick him. They grabbed his backpack and fled, police said.

All three victims did not require medical attention, according to police.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of these individuals is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
