Residents will be able to recycle old or broken electronic devices at an e-waste event in Ridgewood later this month.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Rosemary’s Playground, located on Fairview Avenue between Woodbine and Madison Streets. It’s being put on by State Senator Joseph Addabbo alongside the Lower East Side Ecology Center and Friends of Rosemary’s Playground.

“I love having these e-waste recycling events throughout the district, because it gives my constituents an easy way to recycle their electronics at a central location right in their own neighborhood,” Addabbo said in a statement.

“With sanitation laws seemingly always changing, it can be confusing for constituents to know what can legally be thrown out with your curbside recycling,” he added.

It is currently illegal to throw out electronic devices—such as laptops, TVs and video game consoles—in the garbage or with recycling.

Electronics accepted at the event include working and non-working computers, printers and scanners, keyboards, TVs, VCRs and DVD players, phones and audio/visual equipment.

The event will take place rain or shine.
