Ridgewood Apartment Fire Leaves Five Injured: FDNY

A fire broke out on the second floor of a 3-story apartment building in Ridgewood last night, injuring five people.

The flames ignited around 9:45 p.m. inside a building at 363 Onderdonk Ave., prompting 12 units and 60 firefighters to respond. The FDNY said it was able to keep the fire contained to the second floor and it was brought under control by 10:34 p.m.

Five people were injured as a result of the fire. Four refused medical assistance and one was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for a minor injury, firefighters said.

I was there last night, I saw the flames coming out of the apartment and the extinguishing of the flames. Scary stuff, I live a block away from there and was concerned for me and my neighbors that the fire would spread to the other buildings.
