Trunk or Treat Returns to The Shops at Atlas Park on Halloween

Glendale’s annual Trunk or Treat returns to The Shops at Atlas Park for its third year on Thursday.

Community members are invited to decorate the trunks of their cars and fill them with candy to give to trick-or-treaters at the shopping center.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. at the center lawn and ends at 6 p.m. on Halloween.

The Trunk or Treat is free and open to children of all abilities. It’s a safe and fun way for the children of the community to trick or treat in a secure location, the organizers said in a post.

There will be prizes for the best decorated cars and a free after party at Laser Bounce, 80-28 Cooper Ave, with a live DJ and costume contest.

After the after party, Laser Bounce is offering a special eat and play package. For $9.95 a person, they’re offering one slice of pizza, a drink and a 20 credit game card and $12.95 includes all of the above plus one extra slice of pizza.

Twenty people indicted in Queens-based $4.6M vehicle theft ring after three-year probe: DA

Twenty individuals were indicted and variously charged in a wide-ranging scheme to steal cars in Queens, throughout New York City and its suburbs, following a three-year investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, and the New York State Police dubbed “Operation Hellcat,” into the criminal enterprise based in Queens.

Some of the vehicles were stolen from owners’ driveways, some with the keys or key fobs inside. The stolen vehicles were often sold through advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The defendants are charged in nine separate indictments for a total of 373 counts, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced on Thursday.
