A new cafe offering specialty coffee, teas, wine, craft beer and Austrian food is set to open in Ridgewood next month.

Porcelain, located at 880 Woodward Ave. near Catalpa Avenue, and described as “a living room cafe,” will feature multiple drip and espresso blends from Redefine Coffee, more than 15 loose leaf teas and an Austrian and German-inspired menu.

The cafe opens on Friday, Sept. 13 and will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Porcelain’s menu, lead by executive chef Jeremy Griffiths formerly of SoHo House, will include sweet and savory strudels, schnitzel and sausage plates inspired traditional Austrian and German cuisine.

The cafe’s owner Mike Stamatelos hopes that Porcelain will be a community space for Ridgewood.

“We believe that the community—Ridgewood and beyond—deserves a place where you can stay a while,” Stamatelos said.

Stamatelos plans to add a wine list and craft beers to the menu in October, pending liquor license approval.

During its opening week, customers can get 20 percent off all menu items.

Before Porcelain moved in, the building at 880 Woodward Ave. served as a shoot location for “The Irishman,” the forthcoming mob film by Martin Scorsese.
