A Maspeth man was caught in possession of cocaine last week while cops were arresting him for breaking into a Ridgewood restaurant and stealing electronics.

Lawrence Lemmerman, 54, was arrested on July 31 for breaking into El Rincon Grill and Bar at 46-63 Metropolitan Ave. and stealing tablets, according to police.

Lemmerman allegedly smashed his way through the front door of El Rincon at around 8 p.m. on July 21 before removing the items. He was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance camera.

Police arrested Lemmerman at the corner of Putnam Avenue and Fresh Pond Road at around 2 p.m. July 31. Officers found him to be in the possession of a glass pipe that was later found to be crack cocaine, according to the criminal complaint.

He was arrested on counts of burglary and criminal possession of a controlled substance and was ordered to be held on $25,000 bail cash or bond. He is due to return to court on Aug. 21.
