A three-day-long Egyptian festival will be coming to Ridgewood this weekend.
St Mary & St Antonios Coptic Orthodox Church, located at 62-54 60th Pl., will be hosting the festival from Friday to Sunday. The church’s grounds will be packed with lively activities, refreshments, and educational information about the history of the church and Egyptian culture.
A wide selection of authentic Egyptian foods and desserts will be on offer, including Egyptian coffee. Booths selling hand-crafted clothing, accessories and homegoods will also be set up for festival goers to browse through.
Attendees will also have the chance to try out ancient Egyptian garb by dressing like a Pharoah at the festival’s photo booth, and can even get themselves a henna tattoo.
In the kid’s corner will be games, face paint, a bouncy house, arts and crafts, popcorn and snow cones.
The festival will kick off on Friday at 4 p.m. and will run until 10 p.m. that evening. On Saturday June 15, the festival will go all day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, it will reopen at noon and wrap up at 6 p.m.
Admission to the event is free.
