Edwin Garcia, 38, has been charged with rape and assault.

May 7, 2019 By Laura Hanrahan

A Ridgewood man was taken into custody last week for raping his ex-girlfriend inside her Richmond Hill home, according to police.

Edwin Garcia, 38, a resident of 1624 Hancock St., was arrested on May 1 and charged for the rape of his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend.

On April 19, around 7 a.m., Garcia allegedly began banging on the door of the woman’s home near 86th Avenue and 101st Street, sparking a verbal dispute. Things then took a violent turn when Garcia pushed the woman into her home and demanded she take off her pants, according to the criminal complaint stated. The victim refused.

Garcia then allegedly used his force to pin the woman down and told her to “open your f***ing legs.” He then raped her while holding her arms down.

After the assault, the victim alleged that Garcia told her: “This is what I’m gunna do every single time I want some.”

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment following the incident.

The victim had a restraining order issued against Garcia in October 2018, the complaint states, which forbade him from entering the woman’s home, school, or place of work, and from contacting her by any means.

Garcia has been charged with rape, sexual abuse and assault with intent to cause physical injury. He will appear again in Queens Criminal Court on May 17.

Order of Protection…a joke…need to live in a state where it is legal to own a gun!! Praying for you. He deserves to be in jail for at least 50 yrs without probation…this is an animal, not a human being!!!
